In Memory of Nir Madmon
Nir, son of Rut and Yehu Madmon, was born on the 15th of Adar 5760 (22 March 2000) in Be’er Sheva. A younger brother to Chen and Noy. He grew up and was educated in Moshav Peduim in the south of the State of Israel. Nir, one of the finest sons of the Promised Land, was a person full of joy for life who drank deeply from life itself. He loved people and received love in return with a smile that entered the heart and never left. Nir loved to travel in nature and lived a vibrant and full life, just like the motto that accompanied him throughout his life: “Those who don’t live on the edge are simply taking up space.”
Nir was beloved by all and surrounded by friends, a person full of giving and ready to extend help. He was always interested in others and gifted with the ability to see each person for who they are.
“This is what the Lord says to the men of Judah and to Jerusalem: Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.” (Jeremiah 4:3)
The prophet Jeremiah turns to the people of Israel and asks them in God’s name to be simply nir: a ploughed field ready for sowing, free of thorns, full of love and willingness to help others, and ready to flourish and provide the bounty of the land. And Nir Madmon was exactly that – an open and happy heart who loved people and helped others, a heartwarming smile that sought only to do good.
Nir Madmon, may his memory be a blessing, was murdered together with his girlfriend Shoham Lia Turgeman, by terrorists at the Nova Festival on the 22nd of Tishrei 5784 (7 October 2023), at the age of 23, after arriving there to dance and celebrate as only he knew how. At the music festival, more than 380 innocent people who came to celebrate life at an outdoor dance party were murdered.
replantin’ seeks to commemorate Nir Madmon and his values, and seeks to preserve and remember Nir the person, all the good and joy he brought to this world in his life: a rare smile, unconditional love for humanity, and an infinite passion to live and celebrate life and what it offers us. And always, always to look at the glass as half full with joy.
The Next October initiative harnesses Israeli innovation to honor the memory of those lost
in the October 2023 Hamas War. More than 1,400 innovative startup companies will
commemorate the victims of the war, soldiers and civilians, while building innovative
products and services which will be implemented globally and will make for a better world.
A startup company is designated for each fallen soldier and for each civilian victim of the
war. Next October will track the progress of the commemoration activities over the years,
suggesting various initiatives for remembrance. Moreover, Next October adds ongoing
value to its startups through mentorship programs, connections with investors and
networking opportunities.
Startups participating in the Next October initiative commit to “doing good” as a core value.
They pledge to honor the victims of the war in various ways, depending on their capacity
and while keeping in mind the legacies of the victims they will be commemorating.

לזכרו של ניר מדמון
ניר, בנם של רות ויהוא מדמון, נולד בטו באדר תש”ס (22.03.2000) בבאר שבע. אח צעיר לחן ונוי. גדל והתחנך במושב פדויים בדרום מדינת ישראל. ניר, מטובי בניה של הארץ המובטחת היה אדם מלא שמחת חיים שלגם גמיעות גדולות מהחיים. הוא אהב אנשים וקיבל אהבה בחזרה עם חיוך שנכנס ללב ולא יצא משם. ניר אהב לטייל בטבע וחי חיים תוססים ומלאים ממש כמו המוטו שליוה אותו בחייו: “מי שלא חי על הקצה, סתם תופס מקום”
ניר היה אהוב על הבריות ומוקף בחברים, אדם מלא נתינה ונכון להושיט עזרה, תמיד התעניין בזולת וניחן ביכולת לראות כל אדם באשר הוא.
“כי כה אמר יהוה לאיש יהודה ולירושלם נירו לכם ניר ואל תזרעו אל קוצים” (ירמיהו, ד,ג)
ירמיהו הנביא פונה לעם ישראל ומבקש מהם בשם האלהים להיות פשוט ניר: שדה חרוש שמוכן לזריעה , נטול קוצים, מלא באהבה ורצון לעזור לזולת, ומוכן לפרוח ולהעניק מיבול הארץ. וניר מדמון היה בדיוק כזה, לב פתוח ושמח שאהב את הבריות ועזר לאחר, חיוך ממיס שחיפש לעשות רק טוב.
ניר מדמון ז”ל נרצח על ידי מחבלים יחד עם בת זוגתו שוהם ליה תורג’מן בפסטיבל הנובה בכ”ב בתשרי תשפ”ד (07.10.2023), והוא בן 23, לאחר שהגיע לשם לרקוד ולשמוח כמו שרק הוא ידע. בפסטיבל המוזיקה נרצחו למעלה מ-380 אנשים חפים מפשע שבאו לחגוג את החיים במסיבת ריקודים בטבע.
ריפלנטינג מבקשת להנציח את ניר מדמון ואת ערכיו, ומבקשת לשמר ולזכור את ניר האדם, את כל הטוב והשמחה שהוא הביא לעולם הזה בחייו: חיוך נדיר, אהבת אדם ללא תנאים ותשוקה אינסופית לחיות ולחגוג את החיים ואת מה שהם מציעים לנו ותמיד תמיד להתסכל על חצי הכוס המלאה בשמחה.
אוקטובר הבא (“Next October”) היא יוזמה לאומית שנועדה להנציח את הנופלים והנרצחים במלחמת אוקטובר 2023. 1,400 סטארט-אפים ישראלים ינציחו את קורבנות המלחמה, חיילים ואזרחים, הם יניעו את קטר הכלכלה הישראלית קדימה ויהוו תשובה הולמת, ציונית וישראלית, לרוצחי החמאס שרצו להרוס ולרסק את מדינת ישראל. הסטארט-אפים האלה יבנו מוצרים ושירותים חדשניים שיופצו ברחבי תבל ויתרמו ליצירת עולם טוב יותר עבור כלל האנושות. כל סטארט-אפ במסגרת היוזמה מאמץ חייל/ת שנפלו או אזרח/ית שאיבדו את חייהם ולוקח על עצמו את הנצחתם לאורך שנים. אוקטובר הבא תעקוב אחרי פעילויות ההנצחה ותציע יוזמות הנצחה משלה כדי לוודא שאף קורבן של מלחמת אוקטובר 2023 לא יישכח. בנוסף, היוזמה מעניקה לסטארט-אפים שלה ערך מוסף בדמותן של תכניות העשרה מותאמות, קשרים עם משקיעים פוטנציאליים והזדמנויות עסקיות שונות. סטארט-אפים המשתתפים ביוזמת אוקטובר הבא מתחייבים “לעשות טוב” כערך העומד בבסיס פעילויותיהם. הם מתחייבים לשמר את זכרם של קורבנות המלחמה בדרכים שונות, המותאמות ליכולתם בכל שלב ולאופי הקורבן ומשפחתו. עוד על אוקטובר הבא: www.nextoctober.org
